In response to the last post, I just joined a sorority and I am a junior. I went through formal in the fall but still. Some girls do it so that they can still say they are in a sorority without having to do everything all 4 years. I just did because I went to a community college for 2 years before I just came to my school now. It can make it so that some sororities don't ask you back due to you being a junior but if they want you, they will overlook that. Thats what happened to me. :)
To the girl who asked about being a junior and rushing, IT REALLY DEPENDS ON THE SCHOOL. Some schools only freshmen and sophomores are accepted, but then at other schools where they have a separate quote for upperclassmen, more are accepted. I'm not saying you shouldn't go through recruitment, but it depends on the school or sometimes even the sorority if they accept juniors.
I really want to join a sorority, unfortunately at my school there is no formal spring rush so I'll have to wait until the fall. I was wondering how uncommon it would be for a junior to rush, which is what I'll be in the fall. I regret not rushing this year, and I hope it's not too late. If you, or anyone, has any advice if rushing as a junior would be too late I'd appreciate it!
My roommate went through recruitment as a junior. She loves it and doesn’t regret it for a second. I would say go through and if you truly love a chapter go for it! There is almost one girl every year in my sorority who joins as a junior. It’s not too late!!
